Key Supplier: Nitto Hydranautics

Hydranautics is one of the global leaders in membrane technology. We apply state-of-the-art technology to manufacture industry’s most advanced, high-performance membrane products.

Formed in 1963, Hydranautics are committed to the highest standards of technology, research, product excellence and customer satisfaction. Hydranautics entered the Reverse Osmosis (RO) membrane field in 1970 and are now one of the most respected and experienced companies in the industry. Hydranautics was acquired by Nitto Denko Corporation, Japan in 1987 and became a part of Nitto Global Membrane Division (GMD).

Hydranautics’ products are used in a wide range of applications including potable water, boiler feedwater, industrial process water, wastewater treatment, surface water treatment, seawater desalination, residential water, electronic rinse water, agricultural irrigation and pharmaceuticals.

Hydranautics design and manufacture a broad spectrum of reverse osmosis, nanofiltration, ultrafiltration and microfiltration membranes in various configurations and chemistries while also having an extensive and thorough projection software called “Integrated Membrane Solution (IMS)”, to provide customized membrane solutions to meet specific business objectives and offer comprehensive technical support in the development of new technology.

Product Range:

CPA Series – CPA (Composite Polyamide)
Ultrapure water is essential in several industrial applications. CPA RO membranes are regarded as the industry standard for all critical high purity applications – from pharmaceutical to power industry. CPA lines of spiral-wound RO membranes are available in a variety of sizes and deliver unmatched performance with the highest salt rejection rates.

ESPA (Energy Saving Polyamide)
Energy required to pressurize RO feed water is the largest contributor to the total energy consumption of the RO plant. As a result, chlorine tolerant membranes have helped the membrane technology become affordable and cost effective by reducing energy consumption required to operate RO system. ESPA membranes are the choice for applications demanding high-energy efficiency, with uncompromised productivity and salt rejection.

SWC (Sea Water Composite)
As the world is facing freshwater scarcity, Hydranautics brings a range of SWC RO membranes to meet the demands of desalination industry. SWC membranes have improved the productivity and salt rejection for more than two decades while reducing their environmental impact. SWC membranes come in a range of innovative formulations depending on the level of seawater salinity required.

LFC (Low Fouling Composite)
LFC3-LD from the LD Technology™ innovative low fouling membranes combines the attributes of a neutrally charged surface with hydrophilicity to achieve the lowest organic and colloidal fouling in the most demanding feed water conditions. Combining the attributes of a neutral surface charge and hydrophilicity, LFC3-LD provides significant reduction in fouling rates increasing the membrane’s efficiency by restoring nominal performance after cleaning.

PRO Series Membranes:

The PRO series from Hydranautics comprises elements that offer effective, integrated, site-specific ZLD / MLD solutions that are cost-effective, innovative, and sustainable. The PRO series elements are specifically designed to help companies to achieve their MLD and ZLD commitment, while using the right combination of technologies to treat a range of industrial wastewater streams.

ESNA
ESNA membranes by Hydranautics are designed using the latest technology and exhibit unparalleled performance at ultra-low pressures. Ideal for softening applications and removal of pesticides and pathogens. ESNA membranes provide 50-90% salt rejection.

NANO-SW
The NANO-SW nanofiltration membrane product line is primarily used in the oil and gas industry. These membranes are high performance nanofiltration membranes which are able to selectively remove sulfate, thereby reducing the risks of scaling and reservoir souring when seawater is injected into oil containing reservoirs for secondary oil production in offshore production.

HYDRACoRe®
Hydranautics’ HYDRACoRe® (Hydranautics Color Removal) membranes are sulfonated polyethersulfone-based spiral-wound, crossflow elements that can be used for potable water as well as industrial applications in which color reduction with minimal removal of dissolved salts is desired.

SanRO®
SanRO®and SanRO®-HS elements are USP compliant and typically used in producing purified water in pharmaceutical, medical, biotechnology, food, beverage and semiconductor processes. Elements meet all requirements for purified water and confirm to FDA Regulation CFR, Title 21.

DairyRO and HYDRApolish
Hydranautics’ 40+ years of manufacturing best high rejecting brackish water RO membranes is incorporated into making DairyRO and HYDRApolish elements. DairyRO composite polyamide reverse osmosis elements are of net wrapped, full fit design, intended for daily CIP in the dairy environment.

DairyNF™
Hydranautics’ membrane technology experience and innovation are at the core of every DairyNF™ series membrane. Specifically designed for the separation of divalent anions and/or organic molecules greater 200 Daltons from monovalent salts and lower molecular weight organics, DairyNF™ membranes deliver exceptional performance and value.

SuPRO
Our polysulphone MF membrane with a 300K MWCO provides high flow and rejection with excellent tensile strength. It is widely used for clarification applications especially in the sugar industry. Other applications include: clarification of enzyme streams, fruit and vegetable, juices, wine etc.

Hydranautics offers a wide range of ultrafiltration and microfiltration modules based on polymeric hollow fibers. All membranes solutions offered can be used as a replacement of conventional treatment systems combining benefits of high permeate quality and low footprint requirements. Using Hydranautics ultrafiltration products, RO membranes may be used downstream more safely while operating at higher fluxes with longer intervals between cleans.

HYDRAcap® MAX
HYDRAcap® MAX is a technology using ultrafiltration PVDF TIPS hollow fibers (0.08 micron pore size). The pressurized hollow fiber modules are suitable for a wide range of applications as either final treatment or as pretreatment to reverse osmosis (RO) and nanofiltration (NF).

HYDRAsub®
Hydranautics offers submerged modules with PVDF hollow fiber for MBR applications. Compared to conventional activated sludge treatment, MBR and particularly HYDRAsub produces high quality permeate water suitable for RO treatment. This drastically reduces the footprint by elimination of sedimentation tank and operation at higher MLSS.
